Season's Greetings from the NLI

This year our Christmas card was created by children's book illustrator and artist Margaret Anne Suggs. The illustration is inspired by the owl that features in the mosaic of the Main Hall of the National Library of Ireland. Designed by Oppenheimer of Manchester, the mosaic features tones of green, grey, blue and gold, with the owl – the symbol of knowledge and learning – surrounded by the Latin motto "Sapientia" (wisdom).
