Join us in the new Joly Theatre to explore the Tailteann Games through the unique NLI collection.
Tadhg MacCionnaith, NLI Education Assistant, is presenting an illustrated lecture which gives an exploration of the circumstances and legacy of the Tailteann Games on the centenary of their modern revival. Focusing on the NLI’s extensive collection this presentation will look at the figures, sports and politics involved to see how Ireland’s answer to the Olympics was conceived, created, and ultimately unravelled.
This event will be held in the new Joly Lecture Theatre, which is fully accessible.
